Ex-Wife Killed in Public

MT. OLIVE, Miss. —
A woman who had gone to mail a letter was slashed to death by her estranged husband in plain view outside the post office Wednesday, police said. A police officer chased and arrested James N. Coffield, 30, in the slaying of Lana Headley Coffield, who was attacked with a kitchen knife. Police planned to charge him with murder.
