Update : FOUNTAIN VALLEY : Police Hailing Traffic Crackdown
The Police Department hailed its recent “zero-tolerance campaign” against traffic violators a success.
Police put extra officers on the street and handed out 408 moving violations Sept. 7-22 during the campaign’s initial thrust, Police Capt. Bill De Nisi said.
De Nisi said most of the violations, 254 tickets, were for speeding. The remaining were for various driving violations, including running red lights and not wearing seat belts.
The department will use the campaign again soon, he said.
