AUBURN, Ala. — The way No. 11 Auburn manhandled Mississippi State, 48-20, thoughts were on the next game--against Florida--by halftime.
Patrick Nix completed 23 of 28 passes for 274 yards and threw for two touchdowns and Stephen Davis rushed for 162 yards as Auburn (4-1, 3-1) scored 31 unanswered points in a game postponed from Thursday by Hurricane Opal. Mississippi State is 2-4, 0-3.
Nix made it look easy, completing 14 consecutive passes at one stretch.
“Florida is on our mind now,” said linebacker Marcellus Mostella. “We have to be ready for everything next week.”
