COLLEGE FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : UCLA : Ogden’s Injury Still a Mystery

Share

Now the big worry is Jonathan Ogden.

Already faced with fielding a defense decimated by injuries on Saturday against Arizona at the Rose Bowl, UCLA Bruin Coach Terry Donahue is concerned about Ogden, the left tackle who anchors the offensive line.

Ogden, kicked in the leg in the Bruins’ last game, has not practiced in 1 1/2 week.

“I’m not sure what the problem is,” Donahue said, “but he’s not getting any better.”

X-ray were taken late Tuesday.

Defensive tackle Travis Kirschke (ankle) is definitely out of Saturday’s game. Already declared out was defensive end Phillip Ward, who has a knee injury. Defensive tackle Gary Walton also has a knee injury. But defensive end Danjuan Magee, who has been out since suffering a knee injury Sept. 16 against Oregon, will return Saturday, said Donahue. . . . Ogden is not the only offensive lineman in the trainer’s room. All the other starters are also nursing injuries. From left to right along the line, they are guard James Christensen (elbow), center Mike Flanagan (back), guard Matt Soenksen (foot) and tackle Chad Overhauser (neck).
