Los Angeles police have arrested two suspects in a Labor Day gang double-homicide, but are still looking for two additional suspects.

The midnight shooting in the 18600 block of Hart Street left 19-year-old Narciso Gurrola and 17-year-old Maria Ortega dead. LAPD Lt. George Rock said Rodolfo Cesar Yanez Gil, 20, of Northridge, approached the two on the street and asked to which gang they belonged.

Gurrola claimed membership in a gang that had earlier shot Gil, and Gil, flanked by two fellow gang members, opened fire as Gurrola and Ortega turned to flee, Rock said.

Gil and his alleged accomplices piled into a waiting car, which sped off, Rock said.

On Thursday, police arrested on suspicion of murder the 17-year-old son of that car’s owner, identifying him as the driver, Rock said. Gil, who was arrested at a Northridge restaurant Monday afternoon, is scheduled to be arraigned today in Van Nuys Municipal Court.

Rock said police are still searching for the two gang members who allegedly accompanied Gil.
