Statewide Test Proposal

Share

Gov. Pete Wilson has an opportunity to show his support for education. With the stroke of his pen, he can sign AB 265, which will provide California schools with the means to test students, measuring one aspect of their learning (Oct. 2).

The governor also can accept the $42 million in federal aid which has been authorized for California schools (Oct. 6). This is, after all, money which the taxpayers of California sent to the federal government. Why would anyone refuse a tax rebate?
