SIMI VALLEY : Ideas to Revitalize Tapo Street Sought
- Share via
Hoping for some good ideas to stimulate business on Tapo Street, city officials in Simi Valley are inviting members of the public and business owners to a meeting at City Hall at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The street, which will soon be home to the new police station, is considered a gateway to the city’s civic center property. Several projects are planned for the area including a school, small housing development and shopping area.
Shops have sprung up in the area during the past few years, but city leaders are hoping for more ideas on how to revitalize the area.
An older shopping center has continued to deteriorate as owners refuse to tear down or fix up a quake-damaged building, which once housed a Sears, Roebuck & Co. outlet.
