PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE NFL : Super Bowl XXX: the Toughest Ticket
- Share via
Brokers in the Phoenix area said Monday that even a heavy bank account might not get you tickets to Super Bowl XXX, scheduled to be played in Tempe, Ariz., on Jan. 28.
“I’ve been in this business for 20 years and this will be the toughest ticket to get to a local event--ever. And the most expensive,” said one broker, who spoke only on the condition of anonymity.
The face value of the tickets hasn’t been set by the NFL yet, but they are expected to be about $200.
Phoenix-area scalpers say the starting price for their tickets is $1,400. And that’s just for upper deck, end zone seats.
Lower level, midfield seats will cost around $4,000 apiece.
Sun Devil Stadium is expected to seat about 75,000 for the Jan. 28 Super Bowl, including up to 2,000 temporary seats. Some 5,000 of the seats already are reserved for overflow media, box suites for league and team officials, NFL mail-in drawing winners and the league’s international needs.
