Hyman Raskin; Active in Presidential Campaigns

Hyman B. Raskin, 86, top executive in national presidential campaigns for two decades. A native of Sioux City, Iowa, Raskin earned his law degree at Kent College of Law in Chicago. He served in government administrative capacities, including head of the Illinois regional Office of Price Stabilization. Active in Democratic politics throughout his life, Raskin served as deputy manager, executive chairman and co-chairman of the failed nationwide presidential campaigns of Adlai Stevenson in 1952 and 1956. He later worked as Western chairman of the John F. Kennedy campaign in 1960, and, in 1972, managed the ill-fated presidential campaign for Henry (Scoop) Jackson. On Oct. 8 in Rancho Mirage.
