North Hollywood : Man Stabbed, Nearly Killed in Robbery
A 24-year-old North Hollywood man was stabbed twice and almost killed when a robber burst into his apartment and stole wallets from him and his two roommates, Los Angeles police said Wednesday.
Jerardo Vallejo, his brother Jesus and their roommate Salvador Medina, 28, were in the front room of their apartment in the 11400 block of Miranda Street about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, watching television and playing cards with the door open, when a man wielding a kitchen knife entered, LAPD Detective Rick Jamieson said.
The robber ordered all three to give up their wallets, and when Jerardo Vallejo handed his over, the intruder stabbed him in the stomach, Jamieson said.
The other two residents gave up their wallets. Before leaving, Jamieson said, the robber stabbed Vallejo again--this time in the back.
Vellardo was in stable condition Wednesday, Jamieson said.
The robber made off with about $300, Jamieson said.
