Jerald F. Hassler has been appointed vice president in charge of retail production for RNG Mortgage Service in Santa Ana. He used to be area manager with Guild Mortgage Co., where he was responsible for opening the Orange County branch, and before that, he was an area manager with Weyerhaeuser Mortgage Co. in Riverside.

Raymond M. Gomez has been named vice president of public relations for Rockwell International Corp., a Seal Beach high-technology company. Before joining Rockwell, Gomez was executive director of corporate communications for Ameritech Corporation’s Network Services unit in Chicago. He has also been director of public affairs for B.F. Goodrich’s Geon division in Cleveland; director of corporate relations for Manville Corp. in Denver, ?? executive for William Kostka & Associates, Inc., a Denver public relations and advertising agency.

Robert F. Murphy has joined Sun Healthcare Group Inc. in Albuquerque in the new position of senior vice president and general counsel starting in mid-November. He is currently vice president and associate general counsel of FHP International in Fountain Valley. Sun Healthcare owns and operates long-term care facilities, ambulatory surgery centers and regional pharmacies.

Jeffery B. Christensen, vice president of operations for Denny’s Inc. in Irvine, has been selected chairman of Scouting for Food. The event, held annually by the Boy Scouts of America to support the Food Distribution Center of Orange County, is the county’s largest food drive.
