HUNTINGTON BEACH : Street Sweeping Now Monthly
The city’s residential streets are not being swept as often as they used to be, and budget cuts are the culprit.
In recent weeks, the city has received a number of calls from residents who were not aware of the cutback in service and were concerned that their street had been missed on street sweeping day, said Don Noble, Public Works maintenance operations manager.
“Because of ongoing fiscal constraints, we’ve reduced the level of service in this program to once a month,” Noble said. The city used to clean twice a month.
