100 Prisoners Brawl at Jail
CASTAIC —
More than 100 inmates were involved in a brawl along racial lines at the Pitchess Detention Center, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said Wednesday.
The latest in a series of racial fights at the sprawling jail broke out about 9 p.m. Tuesday in the East Jail Facility, Deputy Matt Ramirez said. It took deputies 10 minutes to quell the disturbance, using stingball grenades, he said.
Three inmates were treated for minor injuries.
Cause of the fight is under investigation.
