Maintenance and paint-striping on parking lots at the Civic Center and at Central Park will cost 30% less than city officials had estimated.

The City Council voted unanimously to award the contract to ASAP Services of San Bernardino.

That company, with a bid of $13,837, was the lowest of four firms seeking the job, said Ismile H. Noorbaksh, the city’s public works director.

“The engineer’s estimate was $20,000” for the project, he said. “The low bid . . . is 30.6% under the estimate.”

The contract calls for the company to put slurry sealing on the two parking lots and also to paint stripes for parking areas.

Work is to begin Nov. 10 and conclude by Dec. 22, Noorbaksh said.
