COMPANY TOWN : Disney Taps Ex-CAA Exec as VP of Interactive Unit

Walt Disney Co. named Dan Adler, a former executive with Creative Artists Agency, as vice president of talent and entertainment development for Disney Interactive. Adler, who directed CAA’s move into new media, will hire actors and other creative personnel to work at Disney Interactive, which develops educational and entertainment software for computers.

* Rosemary Moore, senior vice president of corporate communications of Joseph E. Seagram & Sons Inc., has been appointed vice president of the parent company, Seagram Co. Moore will have a broader role coordinating corporate communications in the company’s two main businesses: beverages and entertainment. Deborah S. Rosen has been appointed senior vice president for corporate communications and public affairs for MCA Inc., which is owned by Seagram.

* Cece Horwitch has been named executive director of national publicity for the motion picture group of Paramount Pictures.

* Al Shapiro has been named senior executive vice president of New Line Distribution.

* Bill Zulager has been promoted to vice president of finance, Walt Disney Pictures and Television.

* Spelling Television has promoted Renate Kamer to senior vice president, Gail Patterson to senior vice president of production and Kenneth Miller to senior vice president of post-production. Lynda Johnson was appointed director of movies and miniseries.

* Drew Larner has been named vice president of business affairs at Twentieth Century Fox.

* Kay Salz has been named director of animation resources for Warner Bros. Feature Animation.

* Daphne Dorfman has joined Warner Special Products as A&R; assistant manager of domestic releases.

* Richard de Grandcourt has been named president of Centurion Entertainment, New York and London.

* Leslie Collins was recently named director of marketing at Comspan Communications Inc., a producer of live entertainment events in Russia.

* Alexandra McElwaine has been promoted to senior account executive in the entertainment division of Rogers and Cowan.

* Larry Thompson Organization has named Carol Underhill director of motion picture development.

* VIFX, a producer of visual effects for motion pictures and television, has appointed Bob Mazza vice president of publicity.

* Steven Hewitt will be executive vice president of creative affairs at Hallmark Entertainment.

* Anne Buettner has been named vice president of corporate taxes at Walt Disney Co.

* Eleonora Granata has been named vice president of acquisitions for Turner Pictures Worldwide Distribution Inc.
