Simi Council Approves Anti-Speeding Signs
Putting a neighborly face on public safety, the Simi Valley City Council on Monday approved posting signs warning motorists against speeding--in the kindest of terms.
“Welcome to Simi Valley, Relax & Slow Down” is the message to be posted at eight Simi Valley Freeway interchanges in white letters on a brown background.
The signs will be installed next month at a cost of about $1,200, which the Simi Valley Rotary and Kiwanis clubs have volunteered to pay for.
The council approved the measure 4 to 0. Mayor Greg Stratton was absent.
