The Aztecs, 7-2 overall and 4-1 in the WAC, rolled up 529 yards in total offense in recording their 12th consecutive victory over the Lobos (4-5, 2-4).

New Mexico’s Donald Sellers completed 28 of 36 passes for 351 yards and one touchdown with one interception. Winslow Oliver gained 123 yards in 19 carries and scored twice.

Blanton completed 17 of 24 passes and threw touchdown passes to three receivers, all in the first half. Will Blackwell was Blanton’s favorite target, catching eight passes for a career-high 210 yards, including two for 48 yards, one for a touchdown.

The victory was San Diego State’s sixth in a row, its longest winning streak since 1991. With three games remaining, the victory also guarantees the Aztecs their first winning season since 1991.

Utah 30, Wyoming 24--The Utes grabbed a 20-point lead as Mike Fouts passed for 267 yards, then desperately held on for a WAC victory at Laramie, Wyo.

The Utes (6-4, 5-2) methodically moved the ball much of the game with their balanced offense and converted two turnovers to boost their lead to 30-10 with 14 minutes to go.

Then Utah withstood a Wyoming comeback as the Cowboys (3-5, 1-4) scored two touchdowns in less than a minute on an 83-yard punt return by Kevin Parma and a 40-yard pass from Josh Wallwork to Marcus Harris. Wallwork was hit from behind and fumbled on the game’s final play.

Colorado State 56, Texas El Paso 10--Moses Moreno came off the bench to spark a four-touchdown second quarter with a one-yard run and two scoring passes to Paul Turner as the Rams (6-3, 4-2) rolled to an easy WAC victory over the Miners (0-5, 1-8) at Fort Collins, Colo.

Moreno, the right-handed version of Colorado State’s revolving quarterback tandem, took over midway in the first quarter after starter Daren Wilkinson, a left-hander, re-injured the left thumb he had hurt in practice.

Brigham Young 45, Tulsa 35--Steve Sarkisian passed for one touchdown and ran for another at Provo, Utah, as the Cougars (5-3) defeated the Hurricane (4-5), which joins the WAC next season.

Sarkisian was 23 for 34 passes for 326 yards.
