Angels’ Finley Latest to File for Free Agency
Pitcher Chuck Finley on Tuesday became the 11th Angel to file for free agency, joining starter Jim Abbott and third baseman Tony Phillips, who filed last week.
Finley, 15-12 with a 4.21 earned-run average and 195 strikeouts in 32 starts last season, is 114-98 in his 10-year career with the Angels.
“We don’t anticipate blowing people away with offers, so don’t anticipate us signing people fast,” General Manager Bill Bavasi said. “Our No. 1 priority is to sign Chuck, but we also want to get the most mileage out of our budget.”
