It has been a long season for the Roosevelt football team, which has had to play all of its games on the road after its bleachers were condemned by the Los Angeles Unified School District. Vice Principal Richard Chavez is leading efforts to raise the $250,000 needed to replace the wood bleachers with aluminum ones that will boost capacity from 1,100 to 2,500. . . . Lincoln has also played all of its games on the road after the district red-flagged its field because of gopher holes. The field is being renovated. . . . Several league titles are up for grabs with only one game remaining in the regular season. Salesian plays La Salle at Monrovia High on Saturday night for the Santa Fe League championship, and Fremont travels to Locke this afternoon with the Southeastern Conference title on the line. . . . The Loyola water polo team will try to end three years of frustration today when it plays at Villa Park in a Southern Section Division I first-round playoff game. The Cubs (18-6), led by All-American swimmer Peter Baldwin, have not advanced past the first round since moving up to Division I in 1992.
