Obituaries : * Norman E. Lee Knox; Longtime Resident

Norman (Rusty) E. Lee Knox, a longtime Ventura County resident, died Saturday at his Oxnard home after a brief illness. He was 64.

Knox, who was born Aug. 15, 1931, in Oroville, moved to Ventura County 35 years ago. He had been a service manager for 35 years for Power Machinery Center in Oxnard.

Knox was a race car enthusiast and a budding gourmet chef, who was known to family and friends as great barbecue cook.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Knox; his son, Richard Knox of Oxnard; his daughters Linda Hammond of Pueblo, Colo., and Cristina Robeson of Glendale, Ariz.; his stepdaughters, Kimberly Wyneken of Van Nuys and Heather Wyneken Manning of St. Louis; his sister, Alice Rife of Lolo, Mont.; his brother, Elmer Knox of Sacramento, and three grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Livingston Visiting Nurse Assn. Hospice in Ventura or to the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are under the direction of Guardian Memorial Funeral Directors of Ventura County.
