Share

A 20-year-old Granada Hills man was killed Monday when the car he was reportedly driving in a race on a public street spun out of control, Los Angeles police said.

Few details were available on the 4:51 p.m. crash. The two cars speeding down Balboa Boulevard hit several other cars--possibly up to nine, said LAPD Officer Mark Snyder.

One driver, whose name was not released pending notification of his family, died at the scene. Paramedics took a 75-year-old man to Granada Hills Community Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Jim Wells said.
