Low-Lying Fog, Temperatures Will Both Lift

Share

The low-lying marine layer that shrouded much of Ventura County in dense fog Wednesday is expected to lift gradually today and through the week as temperatures warm slightly, meteorologists said.

“[Wednesday] should be the foggiest morning,” National Weather Service meteorologist Rob Krohn said. “The next several days will be a more typical pattern, with low morning clouds,” he said. Temperatures should be in the 60s along the coast and in the 70s inland, warming slightly each day.

Krohn said the fog is more dense inland because the elevation is higher in such areas as Moorpark, Simi Valley and Ojai than it is at sea level along the coast.

“You’re a little higher up out there, so you’ll be in the clouds,” he said. But the marine layer will rise slightly each day, he said.
