4 Men Chase, Detain Suspected Robber
A purse snatcher who pushed a 70-year-old woman to the ground was chased and tackled by four men, who held him until police arrived, authorities said Monday.
Gary Mark Prisoner, 30, a transient who last lived in Garden Grove, was arrested on suspicion of robbery, Police Lt. John Woods said.
The woman was walking through the parking lot to Max Foods supermarket in the 12800 block of Harbor Boulevard about 10:15 a.m. Sunday when an employee and three customers saw a man attack her and grab her purse. They chased and tackled him.
“He complained that he couldn’t breath, and then took off running again,” Woods said. “They jumped on him a second time and stayed on him.”
The woman, whose name was not released, and two of the four men who came to her aid received minor injuries, Woods said. The woman’s purse was recovered.
Prisoner was being held at Orange County Jail in lieu of $50,000.
