THOUSAND OAKS : Robber Flees First Interstate With Cash

Share

A Thousand Oaks branch of First Interstate Bank was robbed Friday by a note-passing bank bandit, FBI Agent Gary Auer said.

The suspect is described as a Latino man in his mid-30s, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, 170 pounds, cleanshaven and with short black hair. Auer said he was last seen wearing a red baseball cap with a blue brim, a dark blue sweat shirt and shorts.

The man entered the bank on North Moorpark Road about 10:45 a.m. and passed a teller a note demanding money, Auer said. The robber indicated that he had a gun hidden inside his clothes, the FBI said.

The man left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash in a white grocery bag and fled on foot. No one was injured.

The FBI does not think that the suspect is linked to any of the 41 other bank robberies in Ventura County this year.
