OXNARD : Man Stabbed in Sidewalk Attack
A 35-year-old man was stabbed after being asked for a cigarette--and his money--at San Marino and Fir avenues in Oxnard, police said Friday.
Guadalupe Martinez of Oxnard was approached by several men at 10:30 p.m. Thursday while standing on the corner, Oxnard police said. After asking for a cigarette, they demanded Martinez’s money and threatened him with a knife.
Martinez received injuries to the abdomen as well as minor cuts to his head and face and was listed in stable condition in the intensive care unit at St. John’s Regional Medical Center.
Police said the men left the area in a dark-colored vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
