Camera Platforms Shows Loss in 3rd Quarter
- Share via
Camera Platforms International Inc., a Valencia company that rents and sells production equipment to the entertainment industry, reported a $167,000 third-quarter loss.
The loss came on a 27% drop in revenue to $929,000, which the company blamed on decreased sales and rentals of dollies and cranes. In the third quarter a year earlier, Camera Platforms lost $198,000 on $1.28 million in revenue.
For the nine months that ended Sept. 30, the company lost $538,000, compared to a $1.02-million loss a year before. Its nine-month revenue edged up 3%, to $3.24 million from $3.14 million.
Camera Platforms previously announced that it had offered to sell the company to Western Production Services Inc. for $2.3 million, plus the assumption of some debt.
It offered the same deal to a group that includes members of Western Production’s management. The company said those talks are continuing, and the sale would be made to the bidder who could first obtain the necessary financing and provide an “acceptable” definitive acquisition agreement.
