CAMARILLO : Man Pleads Innocent in Brother’s Slaying
- Share via
A Camarillo man has denied killing his younger brother and pleaded not guilty to a murder charge in Ventura County Superior Court.
Randy Waggoner, 37, is accused of gunning down his brother, Tracey Waggoner, 36, in the family home Oct. 2. Witnesses said the brothers had been drinking beer and arguing throughout the day.
About 11 p.m., investigators say, the younger Waggoner upset the older brother by puncturing the tires on his brother’s car. Prosecutors said Randy Waggoner then shot his brother in the chest with a small-caliber rifle.
Randy Waggoner was arrested about five hours after the shooting in Victorville.
He entered a not guilty plea Wednesday and a trial date has been set for Jan. 22. He faces a life sentence in prison if convicted.
