COLLEGE BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Boston College Stuns Louisville

Boston College, a preseason pick to finish near the bottom of the 13-team Big East, upset No. 18 Louisville, 81-67, Thursday night behind 30 points from Danya Abrams at Newton, Mass.

The Eagles (3-0) scored the game’s first nine points, led 37-24 at halftime and built their biggest lead, 56-32, with 11:55 left. After that, Louisville (2-2) came no closer than the final margin.

Louisville got 14 points from Samaki Walker, who had missed the first two games because of NCAA rules infractions.

No. 13 Missouri 66, Southern Methodist 51--Simeon Haley scored 13 points to lead four players in double figures as the Tigers (3-0) beat the Mustangs (1-2) at Columbia, Mo.

No. 25 Arkansas 103, North Carolina A&T; 49--Jesse Pate scored 14 points in a 31-2 run early in the second half and the Razorbacks (2-2) broke a two-game losing streak with a rout of the Aggies (1-1) at Fayetteville, Ark.

PACIFIC 10

Portland 61, Oregon State 50--Kweemada King’s 19 points led the Pilots (2-0) to their 14th consecutive home victory in beating the Beavers (0-2) at Portland. Markie Brown had 10 points for Oregon State.

Oregon 100, West Florida 66--Kenya Wilkins scored 23 points as Oregon (3-1) demolished Division II West Florida (3-2), 106-66, at Eugene, Ore.

WOMEN

Rashida Jeffery made a three-point play with 15 seconds remaining to break a 75-75 tie and help USC to an 80-75 victory over UC Santa Barbara at Goleta. Tina Thompson had 26 points and 11 rebounds for the Trojans (1-1). Erin Alexander led Santa Barbara (1-2) with 30 points.
