From Associated Press

The Florida Panthers have figured out how to shut down Eric Lindros and Mario Lemieux. They just haven’t found a way to win while doing it.

Jaromir Jagr scored two goals in the third period to raise his total to 22 and lead the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 2-1 victory over the Panthers Friday night at Pittsburgh.

After losing to Philadelphia on Wednesday, the Panthers have consecutive losses for the first time this season despite shutting down two of the league’s most potent scorers.

“It’s a real big disappointment,” Florida center Brian Skrudland said. “Do we get anything out of these games? No. We don’t get any points, and that’s what we’re all about this season.”

Jesse Belanger scored for the Panthers.
