San Fernando Valley : PAINT-BALL CHARGES
A Van Nuys teenager accused of assault with a deadly weapon after he and some friends allegedly fired paint-ball rifles at people in the west San Fernando Valley last month was ordered held on $300,000 bail Wednesday.
Ruffy Flores, 18, who had been free pending court proceedings, was scheduled for a bail review hearing Friday and a preliminary trial hearing Dec. 15.
Flores and Malcolm Boyd, also 18, and two 17-year-old boys were arrested Nov. 10 after they allegedly went on a shooting rampage, attacking pedestrians, bicyclists and transients with carbon dioxide-powered paint-ball rifles and recording it on videotape.
Boyd, who is in custody, is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Dec. 15.
