3 Arrested, Drugs and Cash Seized at 3 Homes by Sheriff’s Investigators
Narcotics investigators have arrested three people and seized more than $350,000 in drugs and cash at three Orange County homes, Sheriff’s Department officials said Thursday.
Those arrested are Erick Orlando Alverez, 23, Jose Jaimes, 30, and Jaimes’ wife, Maria Solorio Martinez, 24, all of Costa Mesa, Lt. Ron Wilkerson said.
Investigators said they arrested Alverez and Jaimes on Tuesday and recovered a pound of methamphetamine outside a restaurant on Harbor Boulevard after a set-up drug deal.
Investigators later searched both suspects’ homes, where they confiscated 1 1/2 pounds of cocaine, traces of marijuana, packaging and processing equipment, a computer, $20,000 in cash and a .25-caliber semiautomatic handgun, Wilkerson said.
The following day, investigators arrested Jaimes’ wife, Martinez, at her mother’s home in Santa Ana, Wilkerson said, where officials found $80,000 cash. Martinez is believed to be a co-conspirator in the drug trafficking, he said.
All three were being held in Orange County Jail on $250,000 bail each on various drug charges.
