COSTA MESA : Police Seek Witnesses of Fatal Car Accident
Police said Friday they are looking for witnesses of a Nov. 29 fatal collision at East 17th Street and Santa Ana Avenue.
The 2:11 p.m. accident led to the death two days later of Elaine Campbell, 85, of Newport Beach, said Costa Mesa Police Sgt. John Pherrin.
Campbell’s black Lincoln Continental had collided with a silver Toyota truck.
“We just need independent witnesses that might be able to shed some light on the incident,” Pherrin said.
Pherrin said police want to assure Campbell’s family and the other driver that every effort is being made to determine exactly what happened.
“We don’t want to contaminate anybody’s viewpoint,” he said. “If you saw the collision, please contact us. . . . We would like to do a full investigation to determine responsibility.”
Anyone with information should call Investigators Garth Wilson or Larry Torres at (714) 754-5264.
