KRAMER: On the “Seinfeld” set, assistant director Randy Carter talks a lot about Glendale’s Alex Theatre. So series writers Tom Gammill and Max Pross decided to turn everyday life into comedy. “We thought it would be a good thing for Kramer to get into,” Gammill says. The episode, with Kramer spouting Carter’s film restoration rap, will air Thursday on CBS with a set designed to look like the Alex.

ORPHANS: The county and city of Los Angeles disagree about giving pets as Christmas gifts. The county, working with the animal-care group Mercy Crusade, is promoting $10 adoptions of shelter animals the next two Wednesdays. But the city is discouraging holiday adoption, saying it often doesn’t work. Instead, they’re promoting gift certificates. . . . To adopt now, call the Agoura shelter at (818) 991-0072.
