Weekend Box Office : Disney Films Dominating the Chart
Disney dominated the pre-holiday box office, with the computer-animated “Toy Story” staying on top for the third weekend in a row, followed by newcomer “Father of the Bride Part II,” which opened with a respectable $11 million.
The weekend overall was up about 8% over last year and the year-to-date take is also ahead of last year, said John Krier, president of Exhibitor Relations.
