SIMI VALLEY : Man, 56, Dies After Pickup Trucks Collide
A 56-year-old Simi Valley man died Saturday after the truck his son was driving collided with another vehicle.
Ahmad Yoseph Barakat sustained a ruptured spleen in the accident and was pronounced dead at 5:30 a.m. at Simi Valley Hospital, authorities said.
Police said Michael Ferdinand, 20, was driving a pickup truck east on Cochran Street Friday when he began making a left turn at Tapo Canyon Road. Police said the pickup driven by Ala Barakat, 25, struck the other vehicle while traveling west through the intersection.
