4,000 Valley Customers Lose Power
High winds knocked tree limbs on power lines Saturday afternoon, leaving about 4,000 customers in Van Nuys, North Hills and West Hills without electricity for several hours, a Department of Water and Power spokesman said.
Most of the damage occurred in the Van Nuys and North Hills areas, where 3,200 customers lost power about 2 p.m., DWP spokesman Walter Zeisl said.
Another 1,600 homes in West Los Angeles and Hollywood also lost electricity, he said.
