Jobless Report: Orange County’s unemployment rate for November will be released Friday by the state Employment Development Department. The county has shown modest but steady job growth this year, and its unemployment rate was 5.2% in October, one of the lowest in the state. Still, analysts remain wary about what November figures will show, especially after an unexpectedly sharp rise in the state’s unemployment rate for November. The state jobless rate jumped a full percentage point to 8.8%. Anil Puri, an economics professor at Cal State Fullerton, says he expects job growth in Orange County to slow but to still exceed the growth statewide.
