South Bay : FATAL ACCIDENT

A 30-year-old man was killed when he was struck by two cars in Torrance at Hawthorne Boulevard and Del Amo Circle Drive, police said Tuesday.

The man, whose name was being withheld pending notification of relatives, was crossing westbound on Hawthorne Boulevard on Monday night when he was struck by a car going south. He was propelled 60 feet by the impact, authorities said.

He was then hit by a second vehicle, which fled the scene, police said. The driver of the first car, a 52-year-old Redondo Beach woman, was not cited, police said.
