Weekend TV : Christmas Shows, Watergate Revisited

There will be plenty of programming to help ring in Christmas.

Aaron Neville joins Nancy Kerrigan and Dorothy Hamill in “Christmas on Ice,” today on CBS at 2 p.m.

Classic fare is available tonight on HBO2, which presents 1993’s “George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker” and the Family Channel offers “Holiday Greetings From the Ed Sullivan Show,” both at 7 p.m.

On Sunday there will be PBS’ “Carreras, Domingo and Cole: A Celebration of Christmas Live From Vienna” at 9 p.m. on Channel 28.

Also airing Sunday is the six-hour “36th Annual Los Angeles County Holiday Program” at 3 p.m. on Channel 28.

On the public affairs front, history, filmmaking and the controversy surrounding the Oliver Stone film “Nixon” is the topic on “This Week With David Brinkley,” with Alexander M. Haig Jr., John Dean and journalist Bob Woodward, Sunday at 11:30 a.m. on ABC.
