Volunteers needed:
What: Reading tutors.
Where: Huntington Beach Library’s Oak View Family Literacy Program.
Mission: To teach Latino parents to read to their children in English. Tutors will be trained on three consecutive Saturdays: Jan. 13, 20 and 27. Sessions will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Oak View branch of the Huntington Beach Library, 17251 Oak Lane. Tutoring schedules are flexible.

Mission: To help adults improve their reading and writing skills. Tutors will be trained Jan. 13, 20 and 27. After completing the workshops--from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Central Library, 7111 Talbert Ave.--tutors will be matched with learners for one-on-one classes at least two hours a week.
