Adult School Offers Free English Classes
The Conejo Valley Adult School is now offering free classes in English as a second language.
Levels include beginning to advanced, with a focus on conversation, pronunciation, listening, reading, writing, grammar and American culture. Entering students take a placement examination.
Child care is provided for parents with small children, ages 4 to 11, at a monthly charge of $20 per child.
Beginning this week, classes meet Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 10 p.m. at 1025 Old Farm Road in Thousand Oaks. For more information, contact Debbie Hamer at 497-4626.
The Adult School also has regular citizenship classes, as well as an ongoing TOEFL preparation class for advanced students hoping to take the college entrance exam for foreign students. TOEFL classes are held Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon and Wednesdays from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
