Wife Held in Shooting of Husband
An alleged spousal abuse victim was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after shooting her husband, police said.
Frank Saldarelli, 22, suffered a shotgun wound to the shoulder and was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was listed in good condition, said Sgt. J.B. Hume.
Saldarelli was later arrested for spousal abuse after officers noticed that his wife, Martha Saldarelli, 24, had several bruises on her face.
Martha Saldarelli told officers that her husband had beaten her, Hume said.
The shooting occurred about 10:15 a.m. at the couple’s residence in the 9000 block of Mediterranean Drive. Officers found Frank Saldarelli on the front lawn with a shotgun wound to the shoulder, Hume said.
Hume said neighbors told officers Martha Saldarelli ran east on Mediterranean Drive carrying a shotgun.
Police found her minutes later and booked her into the Huntington Beach City Jail.
Hume said the shooting was the result of an “ongoing argument” between the couple.
