Baby Arrives in Fast-Food Parking Lot
A woman who was being rushed to a hospital to give birth Sunday morning ended up delivering the baby in the back seat of a car in a Jack in the Box parking lot, fire officials said.
The woman, identified by firefighters as Judith Mejia, and family members were driving to a hospital about 9:45 a.m. Sunday when she went into labor.
Her husband parked the car near the fast-food restaurant on Katella Avenue in Garden Grove, where he and a relative helped deliver a baby girl, a fire spokesman said.
Paramedics arrived and transported mother and child to the Garden Grove Hospital and Medical Center.
Their conditions were not released.
