1 Person Killed in Freeway Crash

PLACENTIA —
One person was killed Sunday in a traffic accident that caused authorities to temporarily close southbound lanes of the Orange Freeway, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
The accident occurred about 9 p.m. on the southbound freeway at Orangethorpe Avenue, the spokesman said.
The body of the victim was in traffic lanes, forcing the CHP and a Caltrans crew to close all southbound freeway lanes at the location while officials investigated the accident.
The name of the victim was not immediately available.
