Cedric Dixon scored 25 points in a brilliant display of three-point shooting Sunday night at Birmingham, Ala., as Alabama Birmingham shocked No. 3 Cincinnati, 70-68, leaving Massachusetts as the only undefeated team.

Dixon was five of nine from beyond the three-point arc. The point guard was the emotional spark for Alabama Birmingham’s biggest upset since defeating Ralph Sampson’s Virginia team in the 1982 NCAA tournament.

Alabama Birmingham, 13-6 overall and 3-2 in Conference USA, held the Bearcats (12-1, 3-1) to their lowest offensive output of the season.
