Barbara J. Greer, a former Oxnard real estate broker who had lived in Ventura County for 29 years, died Friday at St. John’s Regional Medical Center after a long illness. She was 61.

Greer was born July 24, 1934, in Redondo Beach and lived in Hawaii before moving to Ventura County.

She worked in the real estate industry 15 years and was employed by Greer Realty in Oxnard.

Greer was a member of the Oxnard Community Christian Church and the California Tri-County Egg Artists.

Survivors include James Greer of Oxnard, her husband of 29 years; a son, Michael A. Greer of Oxnard; and a brother, James Salter of Redondo Beach.

Visitation is planned from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of the Islands, Conejo Mountain Memorial Park in Camarillo, with a chapel service immediately following.

Arrangements are by Conejo Mountain Memorial Park and Funeral Home.
