Appreciating Film Crews

Share

While watching the Golden Globes, I noticed something I’ve noticed every year while watching the Academy Awards. Neither the winning actor or actress thanked the one group of people for whom without they would not be standing there. The crew.

Though winning such awards is an honor and their talents are respected, they should remember who helped them be that winner. While many stars retire to their comfortable trailers between scenes, the crew is out in any situation setting up shots. Everyone from the camera assistant to the boom operator works very hard to help get films completed. Only one Globe-winning actor took the time to thank the crew--Gary Sinise. When the Academy Awards come up in March, it would be nice to see the honorees thank some of the people who helped make them stars.
