Watching Kings Play on the Road Is Murder

Share

Gov. Wilson has approved a change in the death penalty for his state. Since California is a leader in all changes, the nation will probably follow this significant ruling.

Prisoners on Death Row will now have a choice in the way they are put to death. Besides the use of gas, thanks to Gov. Wilson and King General Manager Sam “the Butcher” McMaster, prisoners can choose to watch all King road games.

The ACLU is protesting very strongly, saying these tapes will subject the prisoners to inhumane torture. Death usually occurs in the second period.

Thumbs down to Helene Elliott for her poor insight into the Wayne Gretzky issue.

Elliott’s comparison of trading Gretzky with the Red Sox trading Babe Ruth is absurd.

Ruth was a young man with untapped potential when he was traded. Gretzky is an aging legend with a suspect back whose great years are long behind him.

The Red Sox received virtually nothing for the unproven Ruth, while the Kings would surely receive proven talent for Gretzky.

The Kings should thank Wayne for his last superstar season by trading him to a Stanley Cup contender while he’s still hot and demand for him is at a premium.

I am sick of reading about Wayne Gretzky and what it will take to keep him. Let’s take a moment and look at how we got where we are. Wayne hand-picked Sam McMaster. McMaster, Barry Melrose and Gretzky got rid of Luc Robitaille, the 50-goal scorer Wayne is now looking for. McMaster traded Alexei Zhitnik, the offensive defenseman Gretzky needs, for Gretzky’s buddy, Grant Fuhr, who was released.

Let’s get rid of Wayne--throw in Kurri too--for a couple of young players, roll the seat prices back to 1988, put on yellow-and-purple uniforms, and maybe I’ll come to a game or two.

Dear St. Louis,

First you take my Rams. Now you want my Gretzky. What’s next, my kids?
