Riverside 99, Orange Coast 87--Matt Ambrose scored 36 points, making 15 of 21 field goals, and had 18 rebounds for host Orange Coast (13-12, 4-4), which trailed, 47-46, at halftime. Paul Culbertson had 29 points and Gary Williams scored 28 for Riverside (24-4, 7-1).

Rancho Santiago 79, Golden West 64--LaByron Clayton scored 20 points and Todd Wilson had 16 for host Rancho Santiago (17-8, 5-3). Rod Scheuerman had 24 points and 10 rebounds for Golden West (12-16, 2-6).

Cypress 82, Fullerton 52--Jeff Sand scored 16 points for host Cypress (11-14, 3-5).

In Orange Empire Conference women’s basketball:

Saddleback 67, Irvine Valley 57--Maureen Skehan scored 15 second-half points as visiting Saddleback (21-1, 8-0) rallied after trailing by 12 at halftime. The Gauchos used a 17-0 run midway in the second half to take a 58-50 lead.

Skehan has a steal that set up the tying basket by Cha-ron Walker, who had 19 rebounds. Skehan then got an offensive rebound and made a layup to put Saddleback ahead, 52-50, with 7:08 left. She finished with 16 points and six steals.

Saddleback outscored Irvine Valley, 40-18, in the second half.

Heather Robinson had 14 points and Jennifer Nakanishi 11, all in the first half, for Irvine Valley (18-6, 4-3).

The Lasers led, 39-27, at the half.

Fullerton 59, Cypress 53--Michele deBruijn scored 19 points and had four block shots for Fullerton (13-11, 5-3), which rallied from a six-point halftime deficit. The Hornets outscored Cypress, 35-23, in the second half. Lupie Janos scored 14 points and Nicole deBruijn added 12 for Fullerton.

Cypress (6-17, 1-7) was led by Amy Rummel with 13 points and nine rebounds.

Golden West 68, Rancho Santiago 54--Golden West trailed, 54-52, with 5:26 remaining, but the Rustlers finished scored 16 consecutive points with Carla Huttenhoff scoring 10 in the run. Blythe Linsey and Leila Ryan each scored 14 points and Huttenhoff added 13 for Golden West (14-12, 4-4).

Orange Coast 64, Riverside 49--Tina Afan scored 19 points to lead Orange Coast. After trailing by one at halftime, the Pirates (20-6, 6-2) outscored Riverside, 39-23, in the second half.
