Two planes skidded off a runway and got stuck in the mud while landing in the rain at Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport. No one was injured in either incident.

The 101 passengers on ValuJet Flight 260 from New Orleans had to be bused to the terminal after their DC-9 ended up mired in mud Friday about 50 feet beyond the end of a runway.

Hours earlier, 28 passengers on Atlantic Southeast Airlines Flight 7504 from Wilmington, N.C., endured the same trip after the commuter jet’s nose wheel skidded off the side of the runway, airport officials said.
